  5. Indomitable Spirit

In 1909 Japanese troops invaded nearby Korea and introduced many styles of martial arts. During the following years, the Korean people began to practice these martial art styles and new forms gradually developed. In later years the Korean government tried to unite these systems under the name taekwondo, which means “the way of the foot and hand.”

The tenets of taekwondo highlight the mental discipline of the sport.

Physical training along with mental awareness will improve fitness, increase confidence and self-discipline, and build a more peaceful world.
